This Privacy Policy details how we value your privacy. Copyatrix is designed under an offline-first and privacy-by-design architecture.
1. Local-Only Storage Strategy
All captures, notes, screenshots, and metadata are saved and organized solely within your web browser sandboxed environment using `chrome.storage.local`. We do not deploy databases, log servers, or proxy APIs. Absolutely zero characters or image buffers are sent to our team, hosting partners, or analytical entities.
2. Permissions Directory & Purpose
To operate seamlessly, the extension requires permissions, which are strictly managed locally on your device:
- Storage: To allow persistent reading/writing of your gathered notes directly on the machine.
- Tabs / Scripting / ActiveTab: Used exclusively to instantiate the resizable layout frame inside active viewports upon manual trigger.
- Host <all_urls> permission: Required to enable standard Readability mode extraction and capture tasks across distinct URLs.
3. On-Device AI Privacy
The live translation layer interacts strictly with Google Chrome's built-in local Gemini Nano offline API. The underlying processing, semantic analysis, and tokenization occur within your PC's hardware. Your texts are never broadcast to remote AI servers, commercial catalogs, or LLM providers.
4. Complete Erasure Autonomy
You maintain sovereign control of your records. Deleting a note from the aggregation dashboard erases the cache permanently. You can completely prune the storage layout instantly by clearing your browser profile's extension state or uninstalling Copyatrix.
